We had a fantastic time here at Flatdogs! Thank you so much for the experience, the smells, the sounds and this unique experience of the Zambian wildlife. Thank you so much for an amazing weekend at Flatdogs. The food, the service, the view overlooking the river (not to mention the exciting morning and nightdrives!!) - everything was brilliant. Amazing, wonderful chalets - really luxurious. The views over the river were excellent, the groans from the hippos impressive, driving and walking safaris very good. We don't want to leave, but we hope we'll be back! Wonderful people and staff, thank you... Will never forget it. My first experience of Africa has been wonderful and I've loved this place and all it has offered. Thank you very much for once again giving us a piece of Real Africa! We're coming back soon. We all had a fantastic time at Flatdogs. Elephants at breakfast, baboons at lunch and the sounds of hippos munching all night long! Brilliant experience. What a gem of a place. Best camp in Africa. The most amazing 24 hours - elephants, baboons and hippos wandering through camp. When can I come back?? (http://www.fodors.com/forums/threadselect.jsp?fid=4&tid=34823760) I´ll surprise (or maybe not!!) you all and say the outset that in hindsight we wish that we had stayed here far longer. The experience taken as a whole was the best of the complete trip... ...Our accommodation at the treehouse was just delightful. We were simply over the moon (and it was full during our stay) with this romantic and very private spot. The sightings across "our" dambo in the afternoon included a breeding herd of eles just in front of us and one young bull at a distance of ca 2 meters, vervet monkeys, baboons, hippos, puku, impala, zebra, giraffes (feeding in foliage above our bed!), frogs, geckos, butterflies,...a multitude of birds - virtually all those that we saw within the park AND bishop birds in breeding plumage which we didn´t see! This was every afternoon, all afternoon and hard to tear yourself away from. Night noises lying in bed under just the mozzie net (hyenas, leopard, eles, hippos, skops owls, fruit bats.........WONDERFUL!! |
