Our wedding at Flatdogs was nothing short of perfect!  It was everything we had hoped for…plus a million times more.  Jess, Ade, Ed and all of the Flatdogs team made our day truly special.  The personal touches like the photos Ed took, the leaves on the wedding-jeep and flowers scattered throughout the tree-house were wonderful.  Such a friendly bunch that really became a big part of our big day.  The camp itself was also out of this world!  The tree-house was just magical, with elephants and giraffes just metres away every day.  We regularly saw hippos &  elephants wandering through the camp and ate very, very well at every single meal!  One paragraph really doesn’t do justice to the magic of the camp – all I can say it is an absolute must for wildlife and nature lovers who like to be welcomed by one of the warmest team of staff you will find!

We were so well looked after from the moment of arrival through three full but very enjoyable days with you. I don’t think I have ever received better service in any hotel around the world – not bad when you are in the middle of nowhere with limited resources.

ZambianAn incredible few days. Thanks to everyone who was so kind and helpful.  Alice and Nicole.

We had an amazing stay here. It was a special and lovely experience for our first ever African safari. I will always remember it. Everything from the game drives to the service, food and ambiance was perfect! We hope to return some day soon. Lisa Shin and Mike Hollinger, San Fransisco and New York, USA.

Becky Elford came to visit Flatdogs in April 2011 with her parents and sister, and wrote this beautiful poem about her time in the Treehouse:

The Treehouse Feeling

No one had told me

that heaven was so close,

to the grassy ground,

and that the definition,

for a room with a view,

could be found,

far from a dictionary,

I hoped they would tell me,

peace is possible,

though they no longer,

need to say,

a safari with armchairs,

a watchman’s lookout,

paradise is

the Jackalberry Treehouse.

A wonderful experience at Flatdogs. We had the family chalet and thoroughly enjoyed the balcony. Plenty of wildlife and we especially enjoyed tracking lions and buffalo on foot. The food is exceptional, great for vegetarians and omnivores. Can’t wait to come back. Mina, Arthur, and Marieka, Lilongwe.

We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect safari: we saw all the animals we hoped to, we had great food, good sleeps and wonderful company. We commend each of you for your ability to make every guest feel special. It’s a real gift and I assure you it is noted and appreciated. We will highly recommend Flatdogs to everyone. Lynne and Mike Dulaney, Canada

Flatdogs is a fantastic place, it never feels like you are one of a crowd and everyone is so friendly that it seems more like you are old friends!  The location you have is beautiful, with the extra bonus of elephants and hippos wandering through, and we saw amazing wildlife just driving from the road to you – including honey badgers! Sarah, Richard and Kathleen, Romsey, UK.

Amazing start to our holiday of a lifetime in Zambia. We loved visiting the clinic and the school; food fabulous, everyone really friendly – fabulous stay. Siaron, Dave and Catrin, Wales.

We all had a fantastic time at Flatdogs. Elephants at breakfast, baboons at lunch and the sounds of hippos munching all night long! Brilliant experience. Lee, Grand, Mike and Dan, South Africa.

The best place I’ve stayed in Africa in 8 years. Paul, Australia

Surely exceeded my expectations. I couldn’t believe they thought of everything! Extremely kind staff and delicious food. Lauren USA.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff, Jess, Ade, and indeed our guide (who was amazing!) for making the experience as unforgettable and brilliant as it was! I will be recommending the camp to all I speak to! Laura and Rhiannon, Malawi and UK.

I’ll surprise (or maybe not!!) you all and say the outset that in hindsight we wish that we had stayed here far longer. The experience taken as a whole was the best of the complete trip… …Our accommodation at the treehouse was just delightful. We were simply over the moon (and it was full during our stay) with this romantic and very private spot. The sightings across “our” dambo in the afternoon included a breeding herd of eles just in front of us and one young bull at a distance of ca 2 meters, vervet monkeys, baboons, hippos, puku, impala, zebra, giraffes (feeding in foliage above our bed!), frogs, geckos, butterflies,…a multitude of birds — virtually all those that we saw within the park AND bishop birds in breeding plumage which we didn’t see! This was every afternoon, all afternoon and hard to tear yourself away from. Night noises lying in bed under just the mozzie net (hyenas, leopard, eles, hippos, skops owls, fruit bats………WONDERFUL!! Really could have cried when we had to leave here……can’t wait to get back. Many thanks to all at Flatdogs! Lorraine & Adrian Annandale, Germany/UK
