The Camp – Chalet Rooms
Our Chalet rooms are made of stone and are designed to keep you cool. The six regular Chalet rooms are found in three separate buildings: each chalet building has a downstairs double room with en-suite bathroom and an upstairs twin/triple room with their own bathroom, just downstairs from the bedroom. The two rooms in each building are completely separate with their own facilities, but can be joined through the small kitchen area if a family or group of friends want to book both rooms. Both rooms have their own downstairs gauzed-in verandah sitting area.
We also have one larger family chalet; this building has 3 bedrooms in total, one twin en-suite, one double en-suite and an upstairs twin loft room. Both downstairs rooms have private ensuite bathrooms (shower, WC and basin) and have an extra bed to sleep 3 when required. The upstairs loft bedroom doubles as a sitting area, opening out on to a raised deck overlooking the river. The loft room has two more single beds but has no en-suite bathroom so people sleeping here would need to share the bathrooms downstairs. The deck’s a wonderful place to relax and watch the sun set over the river.
Each room has an electric fan and there are large mosquito nets surrounding the beds. We are on mains electricity and have a standby generator for emergencies.
“The ladies”, Ellyzed and Judy, clean the rooms each day and will put your mosquito net down in the late afternoon while you’re on a night drive. For those who are keen to cook for themselves, each chalet’s kitchenette is fitted with a hob/oven, microwave, kettle and fridge-freezer. Laundry is collected daily and returned usually within 24 hours.
‘A wonderful experience at Flatdogs. We had the family chalet and thoroughly enjoyed the balcony with plenty of wildlife.’
